St. Mark's Youth: Mardi Gras!

Happy Valentine's Day

! Let's continue our love revolution by remembering to step out of our comfort zone, and embrace others (at EYC, and in life). We can do it--make a difference!

This Sunday at EYC, we are going to celebrate our last Sunday before Lent

! Our theme will be Mardi Gras (which is Tuesday 2/21), and we'll talk about our bad habits and vices. What are some things that you know you should do, but you do them anyway? Join us in the Youth Center from 5-7 p.m. for Junior High, and 6-8 p.m. for Senior High!

Do the Famine ! The 30 Hour Famine is a few weeks away (February 24th-25th), and it's going to be awesome. By raising money, and then fasting for 30 hours, you can change the lives of children around the world. Just to change it up a bit, check out last year's Famine video:

Did you know that over 50% of the kids on the Westside of Jax who receive free/reduced lunch do not have enough food to feed themselves on weekends ? St Mark's EYC has been asked to participate in Feed the Lambs Backpack program, which fills 30 backpacks each week with enough food for the weekend, and distributes them on Fridays at school. There is a list of what they need below:

Can you help? You can bring as many items as you would like. We'll be taking donations on Friday, February 24th--either bring them to the 30 Hour Famine, or drop them off during the day at the church. Let's make a difference!

MD has just been selected as the leader (Junior Weekend Advisor) of New Beginnings #1! New Beginnings is a retreat weekend for 6th-8th graders that will be held at Epworth by the Sea the weekend of March 23-25

The next St Mark's Follies Planning Meeting is THIS Thursday (February 16th) from 7-8 p.m. in the church library. Participation is mandatory if you are going on the Mission Trip
